My Passion Squash

My Passion Squash

I stand facing the
Battle arena door,
The sound of fighting
Then the victory roar,

The gladiator exits with pride,
The battle on the wooden floor,
With a smile ever so wide
Challenges others for more,

I pay no attention to his word
For I have my own battle to face,
In my right hand I grasp my sword
To reach the milestone I chase,

Goal is to break the limit
Enhance bodily strength
Beat foe within single digit
Take skill to a new length,

With this in mind I make my way
Into the wooden battle floor,
This shall be the promised day
Victorious I shall walk out this door,

My foe, prepare thyself for a whitewash
Because heart and soul is poured in,
For this is my passion... Squash!
This battle I shall surely win!.

Small Explanation - This poem (My Passion Squash) came to me before entering the squash court, and it really does depict all the feelings I had before entering the court. I compared the court with a Colosseum(battle arena), and showed all the players as the gladiators, just to show how serious it is to me and all the other people who come to play squash.

  4. I never heard of squash except the veggie so it's similar to racquetball then? Nicely done. You made it sound like a really exciting game. Well more than a game almost like a fight to the finish.
